Klondike, WHY?

Klondike’s commercial, seen below, is sooooo ridiculous.  Why is it so hard to listen to your wife talk about paint.  Not just listen to her, but only for 5 seconds.  The man looks like he is physical pain.  What makes it worse, is this product looks delicious!  Why can’t they go back to their old commercials that were like “Would you jump out of this plane?”  This is just ridiculous.

Think of it this way, though: Every relationship you’ve ever had was probably better than any of the relationships the kind of people who think up ads like this will ever have.

I am in a happy, healthy relationship and I find this ad to be hilarious. Have a sense of humor.

My problem isn’t just with this ad. It is that this ad is a neat and simple representation for a belief our culture had.

I for one fInd the commercial refreshing in a way. The vast majority of advertising has taken custom to ridiculing the male as an ignorant oaf. While watching an evenings TV, I challenge you all to reverse the roles seen in commercials and see how many commercials you would complain about then. Shall we start with the Philly Cream cheese commercials?
